     Edwina Dorsey Stockton was born on 30 August 1857. She married Van Dyke Piper, son of James Wilson Piper and Sarah VanDyke Berier Ross, on 7 April 1895.1 Edwina Dorsey Stockton died on 5 January 1920 at The Williamsburg Hospital, Brooklyn, New York, USA, at age 62. Colonel A. R. Piper, her brother-in-law, served as the Executor.2 She was buried at The Evergreens Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
     She and Van Dyke Piper appeared on the census of 1900 at Bronx, New York City, New York, USA, and he was working as an insurance adjuster. Edwina Dorsey Stockton and Van Dyke Piper appeared on the census of 1910 at New York City, New York, USA, and he was working as a painter of landscapes while she was a violinist. In both censuses, she is listed as being four years younger than he is, despite being 13 years older, which is a continuing mystery.
