John served in the navy during the Revolution and was killed by hostile Indians, while serving on a river expedition. He left nine daughters and a son John. The daughters married, some remaining there others going to Ohio. The son John went to Ohio, and in 1835 was living in Miamitown, although it is reported that he afterward went to Ripley.2
