     In the book "The Donnells" [not yet found by this researcher, but referenced in "The Donnells and their Macdonald Ancestors, A History and Genealogy, 157 to 1927 A. D." by Ema and John A Donnell], Samuel received some religious training and then moved from Virginia to Pennsylvania and eventually to near Paris, Kentucky.¹ Samuel Donnell and Hannah Quiett lived settled on the farm he had purchased on Taylor’s creek, above and adjoining that of his brother Thomas. His nine children were born there.¹ His extensive family is documented in "The Donnells and their Macdonald Ancestors".¹

     Margaret Donnell was born in 1772 in Botetourt, Virginia, USA.¹

     He acquired a farm nar his two brothers in 1802 to Taylor's Creek.¹

     Reverend Thomas Davis was born on 20 December 1809 in Wilson, Tennessee, USA.¹ He married Jane Virginia Latham Donnell, daughter of Captain William Donnell and Nancy Jane Denny, on 20 December 1827 in Wilson, Tennessee, USA.² Reverend Thomas Davis died on 3 August 1867 in Collin, Texas, USA, at age 57.¹ He was buried at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco, Collin, Texas, USA.¹
     He and Jane Virginia Latham Donnellwere dismissed from their church in 1842, indicating their move to Hickory County, Missouri. He opened the first store in Lewisville, Texas, likely after the Civil War.² They moved to Hickory County, Missouri in 1842.¹

     Martha Sophronia Witherspoon was born on 17 January 1811 in Wilson, Tennessee, USA.² She married John Calvin Donnell, son of William Preston Donnell and Margaret Frances Foster, on 5 September 1836. The date of the separation of John Calvin from his first wife Margaret Hancock and his marriage to Martha are not clear.³ Martha Sophronia Witherspoon died on 15 February 1897 in Hickory, Missouri, USA, at age 86.² She was buried at Dickerson-Donnell Cemetery in Cross Timbers, Hickory, Missouri, USA.²
     Martha Sophronia Witherspoon was also known as Safrona. After her husband's death, and the theft of her grain by Federal Soldiers, she took five children and moved to Springfield to be closer to her brothers. After the end of the war, she returned to Hickory County.
She then traded her property for land owned by Norville Dickenson, her son-in-law, in Benton County, Missouri.
Her daughters married two of Norville's sons. Her sons married Langford daughters. This will keep genealogists who rely on genetic testing confused.⁴

     Thomas Bailey was born on 17 July 1774 in Virginia, USA.¹ He married Sarah Sallie Adams on 31 January 1805 in Patrick, Virginia, USA.² Thomas Bailey died on 11 September 1860 in Benton, Missouri, USA, at age 86.¹ He was buried at Post Oak Cemetery in Warsaw, Benton, Missouri, USA.¹
