     Lieutenant Lawrence Wilkinson was born circa 1615 in Lancaster, Durham, England. He married Susannah Smith, daughter of Christopher Smith. Lieutenant Lawrence Wilkinson died circa 9 May 1692.1
     He had been an officer in the Army of Charles I, was taken prisoner by the Scotch and Parliamentary troops on the surrender of Newcastle-on-Tyne, 22 October 1644. His property was seized, and he received permission to emigrate to New England with his wife and sons in 1652 to Providence, Rhode Island.1
