     Private First Class Emory Donnell entered the Army on 9 October 1943 and was assigned to the 1st Army, 36th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division with training at Camp Wolters and Mineral Wells, Texas.

He was overseas from 26 March 1944. He was seriously wounded in the battle for Brest, France. Six months later he was again seriously wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.

He returned from Europe in July 1945 and was discharged on 8 August 1945.

He worked as a General Superintendent for Brown and Root Construction Company for 37 years.4 He lived in 1983 at 4122 Orchard Road in Pascagoula, Mississippi, USA.3

Last Thursday morning about sun up Mr. W. J. Donnell. an old & respected Citizen of Corn Hill committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol the ball entered the right ear and lodged above and a little back of the left ear. A note was found on his person after death in which he states that financial embarrassment was the source of his trouble. Seven children by his first wife survived Mr. Donnell. His second wife by whom he had no children is living. He committed suicide over financial problems.3
